Habitat comments: 3 coll level is contained on top of archaeosurface 3a within Unit 2 of unconformity-bounded stratigraphic unit (UBSU) 2

"level 3 coll is placed in a stratigraphic unit comprising levels of sand and thin layers of gravel deposited by ephemeral rivers. Level 3 coll has been described as colluvial, a debris flow deposited on archaeosurface 3a containing resedimented materials."
While evidence of hominid bone modification is rare at this level, it is possible that the poorly preserved cortical tissue and natural abrasion striations could have masked possible anthropogenic activity
Tooth and cut marks suggest carnivores and hominids may have had access to the carcasses respectively however it is difficult to confirm the scale, timeline, and form of interaction
