The rainy season starts in October and peaks between December and January, with monthly precipitation around 200 mm... The area defined here as 'pasture' was used for extensive cattle grazing and was abandoned in 2008, five years before the beginning of the present study. This vegetation consisted of exotic grass species, herbs and shrubs, and sparse trees"

MAP is for the region of Mata Seca State Park and is based on Silva et al. (2012, Arthropod-Plant Interaction)
Life forms: mosquitoes
Sampling methods: no design, other traps, hand capture
Sample size: 4855
Years: 2013
Seasons: wet or monsoon
Sampling comments: "Sampling was carried out at the end of the rainy season of 2013 (April)... we established three plots within each successional stage, with the same sampling effort for all plots and periods. Distances between plots within the same stage varied from 0.5 to 1.5 km... Mosquitoes were collected using Shannon traps and by active collection. LED lamps were set up inside the Shannon traps, and all attracted insects were captured using automatic aspirators... we used automatic aspirators to collect mosquitoes that were attracted by researchers"
