State: Minas Gerais

Coordinate: 20° 41' 20" S, 42° 49' 35" W
Basis of coordinate: stated in text
Geography comments: longitude is misstated as 20 49 35, apparently meaning 42 49 35
Climate and habitat
Habitat: tropical/subtropical dry broadleaf forest
Substrate: ground surface
Habitat comments: "a remnant of semi-deciduous Atlantic forest"
Life forms: orthopterans
Sampling methods: line transect, pitfall traps
Sample size: 133
Years: 2012
Days: 2
Nets or traps: 30
Net or trap nights: 60
Sampling comments: sampling was "in February 2012" using "sugarcane juice" used as the killing solution in "pitfall traps... We established a transect of 1, 700 m, starting at a distance of 200 m from the forest edge. At the beginning of the transect, a set of four pitfall traps, each containing one of the four solutions chosen at random, was placed perpendicular to the transect, 30 m apart from one another. We repeated this procedure 30 times with 50 m separating each set of pitfall traps" (i.e., there were 30 traps per treatment); "The traps were left in the Þeld for 48 h before they were removed"
