Sampling comments: "we selected 16 sites with four sites in each of the four dominant land-use categories, based on accessibility (<5km from access point), landowner permission, and forest size (>75 ha)" and surveyed 14 sites from "July-August 2009 and June-August 2010" and two "from October to November 2009... we placed multiple cameras at each of the 16 sites. Each site consisted of a central camera station and three additional camera stations surrounding the central station spaced at >250 m apart, for a total of four cameras in the 2009 surveys. Cameras were arranged in a grid of six spaced >250 m apart in the 2010 surveys... Each camera station consisted of a remotely triggered [Scout Guard SG550] passive-infrared camera... we also used hanging compact discs or small portions of carpet sprayed with cologne at a subset of cameras at each site to increase felid detections"
